Penyrallt Uchaf Farm is the home of Chrido Angoras. We began breeding angoras back in 1992 starting with two crossbred goats. From this we progressed and currently the herd numbers around 140. Angoras are bred for their fleece, mohair which is used in anything from the finest baby wear to aircraft seating. We have taken our goats to agricultural shows ranging from Stafford County down to the Royal Cornwall with numerous Show Champions on the way. Our ‘finest hour’ so far was taking the first Welsh-bred Supreme Champion prize at the British breed show at Malvern in 2005 with Chrido Royale a buck three years old at the time. He took the title again in 2006, a feat never managed before in the UK. Although six years old now he still enjoys showing and took Supreme Champion at the Aberystwyth show in 2008. Unfortunately due to Bluetongue restrictions the British National breed show at Malvern had to be cancelled in 2009 otherwise he would have been competing again.
We also have a few Dexter cattle, horses and pure-bred free range chickens, geese and peacocks.
Penyrallt Uchaf is located 1.5 miles from Crymych.
On the A478 at Crymych turn off at the Crymych Arms towards Eglwyswrw. Follow this road for about 1.5 miles passing a turning to Crosswell on your left with a small post box, after the next bend turn right between the 4th and 5th telegraph pole on the right down a rough farm track just before the farm sign. After about half a mile you will reach the farmhouse.
